MaiMaiLim's 2016 Summary of Art

^{buckle up peeps, this is gonna be longgggg. also yes i know there's still two weeks till 2017 but suck it i probably wont do anything big...}

so er, i know 2016 has been a total shit year to a lot of people, i can't disagree with that. But for me somehow, I made a lot of progress upon my art in 2016, so here goessss:-

January: i guess this is kinda a crazy start for me cause this art has been liked AND reblogged by Jacksepticeye. I WAS FREAKIN HAPPY WHEN THIS HAPPENED I LEGIT SCREAMED IN MY DORM ROOM and my roommate was like: good lawd. It was supposed to be a random doodle and an expression test on the DETAIN!!! look. I wanted to make it comical.

February: I finally tried to make a speedpaint this month. This is the art that I experimented with. and boiiii I was basically just trial and error on the yellow shots. This pic got a close second of being on the lead cause I tried some feelsy stuffs ehehhehehehe // shot

March: I decided to start something that will probably be one of the biggest projects of my life. A comic series. There are times I really wish I wanted to just drop it and only post bits and pieces of the idea bUT DAMNNN DETERMINATION is making me wanna show every single stuff. No turning back now i guess. Also, this pic is WAYYYY close to being on the lead of the month because I tried a better lineless art, but making a comic series is a super big thing to me.

April: I like this art, gives a positive vibe there, which is intentional. I put this on my dA front page so if anyone is having a hard time, look at it, believe in themselves and know, they can do it. I don't think I will take that down...

May: This one wins the "Proudest Art" award, even though it is inspired by the DR series. I tried different brush settings to fit in the opening of SDR2, and hell i really love the result. As much i want to have a YT version of DR, ehhhh i better take that mind off cause it hurts to see them get killed and executed hueeee.

June: the GSI (Guilty Sinners Institute) trend has risen ayyyy. when i drew this there were still six peeps, perfect for the ECHO song. heck this is also the first time i tried the glitchy effect on my art, not so bad with all the tutorials there hueeee.

July: more GSI stuff! This is quite a big deal for meh cause I decided to download PS CC to try making gifs, and yea, thanks to the tutorials, I love how this came out.

August: I had a crazy idea back then: making an animation vid which seems pretty impossible for my current skills. Not just any random animation vids too, a Bad Apple parody animation video. geez, I just can't calm myself, but then, I can't help it. So i decided to post the planned frames of the video. People like the idea, so mayyyybe i will do it, but ONAM first. xP

September: more decent progress on ONAM. actually no, not much tbh. I just wanna try out making these kind of stuffs because I got inspired by a poster created by my idol who done similarly like this. This art is my fav September art actually.

October: boiiiii I'm in for a storm this month. Voltron LD came to my life, and I LOVE IT TO BITS. I tried out a wee bit more detailed background AND lineless art again in this art. It's hard to pick for Oct tho, cause its either this, this and this. ^{DR au klance is an honourable mention here :3}

November: ok, its actually tie in with this art. and technically these two are the only art i did in this month lolololololz cause school got hectic. KNNW AU Pidgance got featured in here tho cause I tried out new brush settings again to make the comet and the twilight star. Thanks to my Comm Tech, I got to try out Illustrator for the other art, it was frustrating at times tbh. I love both arts in Nov heh.

December: the only art I can give rn. More of "a wee bit detailed backgrounds" lmao.
